Mammut Ducan Knit High GTX Backpacking Boots - Men's

Made in Vietnam. The sole is Vibram and made for "off-road". Good soles. Leather seems good. The thing that makes this boot different is the "knit" inside the boot that is like a durable thick stretchy sock. I am concerned the stretchy cloth (knit) in the boot goes down too far in the front and will be worn above the leather but we will see. The boots are difficult to put on as the thick stretchy knit material is above the top of the boot. I use the pull loops that are on the top of the boot to pull them on. The opening in the top of the boot is small as the knit material is tight and elastic on the top. It's hard to get your foot in. Once your foot is in, the knit material is tight around the ankle. It seems to provide good ankle support. So far it is fairly comfortable, and I think it will be a good hiking boot. Strangest boots I have ever owned, but they are not bad once you get used to them.
Pros:
Good leather and vibram soles
Cons:
The knit material takes getting used to
Best Used for:
HIKING
