The realization shorts are comfortable and flexible for hours of bouldering and ready at a moments notice to lend a quick belay or to rope up for a TR session. Some reviewers have said that they are comfortable enough to wear around town but I disagree. There is a harness in there and you know it. The tie in loops are perfect for belaying as they orient the carabiner side to side, just like a belay loop. Tying in is easy too.
The fabric holds chalk so they look chalky all the time.
I got the v1.0 , so it only has two gear loops. I see that the v2.0 has four and that would be nice. I haven't worn them outdoors for sport yet but I suspect it will be comfortable all day.
The elastic waist closure is unique and allows for stretch and ventilation. I wear a 31 or 32" waist depending on brand. I got the medium and they fit well. At first I thought they were tight, but it's just the elastic closure system at work. If I was a 33 or 34, I think these would be too small.
Sorry for the rambling review but I think I hit the main topics.

I really want to like the Realization Shorts by Mammut. They’re an excellent idea and for the most part are a solid, well crafted bit of gear, but… there’re a couple of things that keep me from really liking them.

PROS:
- they’re surprisingly comfortable, especially when actually climbing - it almost feels like I’m not wearing a harness at all, absolutely no restriction in range of motion / movement. even when weighting the rope they’re fairly comfortable (with one exception noted below). I wouldn’t want to do a hanging belay from them, but for the occasional fall / take and being lowered they’re ok (I’ve definitely worn more uncomfortable traditional harnesses).

- they’re very convenient for quick gym sessions. especially if you bike to the gym - you can throw these on, clip your shoes, chalk bag, belay device, & ‘biner to the loop on the back (or one of the gear loops) and hop on your bike. the pockets work well for wallet and small set of keys.

- they look nice

CONS:
- the waist can feel a little loose when weighting the rope / sitting in the harness. while you can tighten the waist with the elastic draw cords this is only for keeping them from sliding off down past your hips. the functional part of the waist that’s used for load bearing when weighting the rope is not adjustable and so depending on how close to the max size range your are you might notice a significant amount of “stretch” when you weight the rope - not so much that you’d be in danger of falli...

Great shorts I use them to jog to the crag after work and jump on friends ropes. Light and comfortable.

Love these climbing shorts. Surprisingly comfortable. Lots of pockets. Leg loop size is adjustable, but they ride too high on my thighs for my liking. Wish the height of the loops were adjustable. It would be nice if the waist were adjustable as well.

when I first heard about the integrated harness into a pair of shorts i was intrigued, after trying it I found it is the most comfortable harness I have ever used. the shorts are well made and well worth the purchase price... I couldn't be happier thanks

Got them for my husband. Nice fit. Seemed a little tight at first, but settled in nicely.

I'm newer to climbing but have picked it up quickly. I know the old school climbing community has scoffed at these but with evolution comes innovation. That's what these shorts are, innovative. They are comfortable, they work and they just make sense. I don't know why all harnesses aren't made like this.
