So I picked up the size 11 and the 10.5 wide because of the reviews regarding the shoe being too small. The 11 fit nice, but there was too much heel lift. The 10.5 wide fits fantastic, and the little heel lift goes away with a thicker sock. There is no undue pressure and the toe box feels great even with my Morton's toe. Very stiff shoe, but that is exactly what I prefer. Been wearing them everyday and no issues so far. No major sweat issues with the gortex, but we'll see how the summer goes. I chose gortex since here in CO in the alpine there is often many stream and creek crossing during the summer. A stiff gortex shoe is perfect for summer and spring approaches.

Shoe is very well build and comfortable. The padding in the tongue and lacing system make for a good fit. The sizing runs a little smaller than other approach shoes, I returned for 1/2 size larger than my normal size. The added bonus is the shoe looks great and draws a lot of comments & complements.

My wife's first reaction when she saw I had these on, "Wow! Those are great! I REALLY like those!" I had just gotten the Mayan color shoes in the mail and tried them on, after trying on both Merrill and Oboz prior to these. I wasn't too impressed with either. Both were quite stiff and I didn't like the way they looked. These, while being a little stiff (I realize they are boots and need some rigidity) have some memory foam give, so that is nice. The anti-slip sole is going to be really good in the winder, let alone wet rocks and gravel. I wanted waterproof shoes/boots and am glad these fit the bill. Very happy to have nabbed these on sale!
