I have used this shoe only indoors so far, but it has excelled on the steep terrain, and is surprisingly sensitive (once more broken in) for how aggressive it is. The Vibram rubber is excellent. not too soft, but sticky. I sized these down 0.5 size from my smaller street shoes. I normally wear 10/10.5 street shoe and bought 9.5 in the Mammut Samurai. They fit very well, and are nearing comfortable
