Very comfortable and supportive. I would consider ordering a half size up as the toe box is a little on the narrow side. I have yet to test the waterproofing but like most gore-tex products I'm sure it will perform well. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I was looking for a good mid-weight backpacking boot to replace some older leather boots. These were very comfortable and secure right out of the box. I did swap out superfeet insoles, but I do that in all my shoes. The toe box is a little narrow for me, but I don't think that is a break in issue. I am going to have to do some preventive taping before I go out on a long hike, but it is manageable.

Very comfortable right out of the box. I've been watching this boot for a year waiting for it to get discounted. I've only worn them inside the office all day one Friday and they are very comfortable and quite grippy on the lunchroom floor. These have the "Mammut Rolling Concept," which sort of propels you as you walk. I can't wait to break them in on the trails next month. I have seen a review where one purchaser said his cracked where the ball of the foot flexes (right past the toe guard). The fit is true to size. I'm rating a 4 on initial impressions right out of the box and not having tried them outdoors.
