A Nice Softshell Pant; watch out on sizing

by WoodsDeepin, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on November 11, 2021
5'4 130lbs with a hiking off-trail in mountains body shape (Larger than normal muscles apparently in the legs). Mammut sizing I wear small for the tops and an 8 on bottoms. Originally purchased a 6 as that is what my mammut pants from about six years ago are but they were too small and had to exchange. The pants themselves seem durable and are mostly waterproof. I have taken them hiking on trails a few times in the rain with no problems. Love the mesh material on the side vents rather than just open. I will try taking them into the woods soon and hopefully they will last through the rainy season!

Great pants

These are great pants for backcountry touring and warmer days inbounds. I am 5'2" and 115 lbs so I ordered a petite small. They are a little tight in the waist but I found the slim fit is conducive for moving quickly. I had been wearing insulated ski pants on my ski tours and these pants were a huge upgrade- vents for the uphill yet still a substantial toasty shell for the downhill.

Glad I got the size 6. I usually wear size 4. They are thick, sturdy. Cannot wait to try them on a winter hike!

Love these!!!

I ordered these after I trashed my Mammut Linard shell pants after only half a dozen or so days of hard use. I'm hoping a softshell pant will be more durable for scrambling and bushwacking. I plan on using these mainly for doing winter 14ers here in Colorado. I've worn them only a couple of times and so far I love them (warm, comfortable, wind resistant). Sizing was a bit tricky as I think I'm really between sizes. I'm 5'3 and about 120 lbs with an athletic build. I ended up going with size 4, which is a bit snug with a heavyweight base layer underneath. However, they seemed to stretch out a bit so I think they'll be fine. However, I do prefer my clothing to be slim fitting. This is the first time I've placed an order through Campsaver and it was definitely a positive experience (best price I could find, great customer service, items was shipped quickly).
