Initial impressions - I just got this pack a couple weeks ago and so far I think it's great. I bought this in order to replace my Marmot Gunnison (which retrospectively seems more expensive than it should've been for a Dick's Sporting Goods product). I felt that the orange color and myriad straps on the Gunnison a little college undergrady for me.
The day after I got it in the mail I used it as my sole pack for a weekend trip to Georgia to see my family. I packed my laptop, 2 extra days of clothes, kindle and books, cell phone charger, iPod, flip flops, snacks, magazines, etc. It was able to hold it all in and even though I shoved it to capacity there was no tearing or ripping or any signs of stress at all. Also, the laptop sleeve fully encompasses my laptop (don't go above 15"). My previous pack didn't cushion the whole laptop, just the bottom half.
I like the stripped down and simplistic look of it. There's nothing superfluous like the Marmot Gunnison had (like what the hell was that buckled up flat piece of... thing in the back for?). It has the right amount of pockets and compartments without going crazy and adding a bunch of excess weight. It looks like an everyday pack somebody more mature and professional would use without having to step it up to a briefcase.
