I got the last one at the lowest price in my size. I figured it would be an experiment. First, it is indeed a hoody. Second, it is very light, as in thin. I was expecting something a bit more robust I guess. It is about the same thickness as my old Patagonia Nanopuff pull-over. It could work as a mid-layer in the winter and an outer layer on a summer night in the mountains. Third, the hood is large, i.e., helmet compatible. However, if you are not wearing a helmet, then the hood is really too big, and there is no way to cinch up the hood; it is what it is. Since I got it for a "layering project" and considering the price I paid, I will keep it. So it you are looking for a thin insulated jacket and can get it at a reduced price, go for it.

Nice and warm and packs well. The temp at my work is around 34.F and this jacket alone is perfect, and with a minimalist jacket as a shell I'm good for any kind of cold/wet weather.
