The Castle Peak pant should be great for cold windy days bobbing on chair lifts and bombing down the slopes. These observations are from my living room. The insulation feels substantial, but weight is not too heavy. The outer Neoshell fabric has an extremely soft and supple hand. Only concern is about potential durability in the trees and rocks. M fit is good for my 6’3” 155 lb frame. Surprisingly, the trim cut in the thighs makes me appear to have hips, which I do not and no item of clothing has ever done this to me before. Still, not constricting and pretty flattering slim cut. Length is longer than other Marmot M pants I’ve worn, which is great. Gaiters comfortably fit below my second ski boot buckle. Reinforced fabric around the entire cuff, not just instep, should hold up well. Looking forward to being toasty from blizzard to bluebird.
