Review of size/fit, construction and styling - Marmot Essential Jacket - Women's

I have not yet had the occasion to to wear this jacket in appropriate weather, so my review is only as to fit/size, construction and styling. I am 5'9" and I usually wear US size 8-10/medium. I had read reviews on another site that this jacket runs a little large. It is large enough for me to wear a thinner fleece underneath it, but it is not oversized. It seemed just a little tight under the arm when it had the additional layer under it, but not tight enough for me to exchange it for size. If you think you want to wear a heavier layer under this jacket (there is no lining) consider buying a size up.

The jacket seems very well made and I have no doubt it will keep me warm and dry without leaking.

I like the styling. The picture is very accurate. The jacket is slimmer at the waist than the hips. The pockets lay very flat and are well integrated.
