Marmot Highland Pants
Initial comments: Though they fit well for the listed size (32 in my case, and I am 31" waist, 32 leg, 5'-11" tall and 151# if of reference), the pants received wer not the "Dark Steel" represented/ordered. Instead of gray with dark knee patches and rear and gray pocket zippers of the pictures, received the gray, but wihg matchign knee/butt patches and the zippersare a weird electric blue. Not a big deal, butnot even shown as an optionon the catalog page.
I haven't yet used climbing, but seem a little thinner than I had anticipated to use for winter climbing (not real wind-proof?) and I also don't yet know how sucessful the DWR coating is for same use.
I only indicated NO to a recommendation at this time since they are no longer available/made. I will try to weigh in again once using this upcoming winter.

Warm, comfortable, and water resistant
Used these pants as a mid-layer over merino leggings and underneath BD front point gore tex pants for a week-long trip in the adirondacks and white mountains. I used them ice climbing, backpacking, and to climb Mount Washington They were super breathable, warm, and durable. The insteps are well-reinforced, but not crampon-proof!
