For the most part I thought the jacket was amazing. I loved the fit and flexibility of the jacket, number of pockets and their placement, the material of the jacket, pit zips and the ease of using them, the hood adjustments, etc. But I could not keep warm with my normal layers, esp. my arms. I put on extra layers and was on the edge of being too warm for my core, but still my arms were uncomfortably cold. I knew I would not wear it in the colder winter months and especially in places like the Adirondacks or Whites (which I bought it for), so I sent it back. Campsaver was excellent in allowing me to do so. I have a lot of Marmot equipment and "love" it, but this just didn't work out for me.

This is my first shell. It's a little bit small for me (5'6 160lbs) due to its trim fit. But I still can put in a thin mid layer inside. I test with some rainy days. I haven't test the breathability which is the reason I chose this jacket. I think it will perform well in a higher activity scenario.

Water proof, highly air permeable, great athletic fit, it can be worn with a tee shirt and it feels nothing like rain coats of old.

I use this jacket when hiking and snowshoeing. It is awesome. Totally waterproof and breathable. It has also become my go to jacket for around town. Good pocket placement and plenty of them. The jacket fits well. I am 6' 1" and 175 pounds. I have the size medium and am very happy with the sleeve length. Often jacket sleeves are too short for me, but these are plenty long.

This jacket is more coat than I needed; it's made for more than just a "walk in the park". I'm drawn to anything Marmot makes, because of my past experience with their jackets. This one is no exception! I love the idea of a waterproof softshell, as I walk out doors almost everyday as part of my exercise program. I thought this coat would cover a multitude of conditions, which it does. I just

This is by far the best all-around hiking jacket. I also have several North Face jackets but this is my go-to jacket for serious hiking. Completely waterproof and breathable. The reflective strips are great for visibility when hiking with others. Lots of functional pockets within reach. Roomy enough to wear two layers inside. But it is warm by itself. Just superbly functional. Well worth the price

It breathes really well, is waterproof, but yet still soft to the touch on the inside. I love it! Best jacket I have ever owned!
