Most Helpful Positive Review Great for cold weather athletic activiti
I was deciding between the ROM jacket and a thicker Marmot gravity softshell. I decided the ROM jacket was more versatile and could be layered with a patagonia R1 or puffy jacket underneath if needed. I have used it for backcountry, alpine, and cross country skiing and it works great. I love the hoo...

A great light jacket, just a little tight around the armpit

by popmahn, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 2, 2019
I'm 5'5" and 140 lbs, and the size small fits me well (it has an athletic fit). Since it has an athletic fit, if you plan on wearing multiple layers underneath, you might want to consider getting 1 size up. I think the length of the sleeves is good, especially with the adjustable velcro cuffs (for reference, my dress shirts at work are 32"); I recently bought a The North Face (TNF) Apex Bionic 2 jacket, and the TNF sleeves were way too long for the size small jacket. The area around the armpit (from the bottom of the armpit to the top of the shoulder) is a little tight, which might become a concern if you plan on wearing a mid-weight base layer underneath; however, the fabric has some stretch, and since I only plan to wear a light, moisture-wicking t-shirt underneath, it doesn't bother me too much.

Absolutely perfect

by PTBrodino, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on May 13, 2018
It fits perfect and I don’t know how it can breathe and be windproof, but it is. It cools when you’re warm and when the wind picks up you remain warm. It’s difficult to overheat in the jacket. It’s prefect for fall and spring.

Looks great, feels great, wears great!

by Joseph L., Verified Owner from KS, United States Written on January 17, 2017
It's surprisingly warm for lightweight it is and is definitely can handle temps down into the 40s. The hood is comfortable, the jacket fits well and isn't constructing, and I love how it has a slightly longer length for better coverage. You won't regret buying this jacket!

An awesome hoody!

by Petro, from MD, United States Written on December 11, 2015
It is a super-versatile hoody jacket which I use nowadays (december) for riding around D.C. works perfectly. Btw, why don't campsaver differentiate between jackets and hoodies? The ROM being the latter? thanks)

Good

by David Z., from China Written on November 18, 2015
Nice fit, bright color, very good wind resistance, can hold light rain, not designed for keeping you warm but really helps doing that.

Looks sweet

Haven't had a chance to use it, since winter isn't here yet, but this jacket looks great, fits great (I'm 5'8" and got the small), and looks like it will be an awesome jacket for powder days. Hood is very nice. Can't wait to try the Windstopper as it came highly recommended from a friend (used to using a hard shell). Looks like it might be warm enough on its own for skiing, on top of a light base

Great jacket, well worth the money

by Minimal guy, from MI, United States Written on April 3, 2014
This is a great jacket for anyone who spends time outdoors. It's perfect for hiking, climbing, skiing, any activity except being in the rain. It blocks all the wind so a puffy or warm layer underneath keeps you nice and warm no matter how cold or windy it is. It breathes so well you can wear it all day too. I love it.

Excellent

by Avid Adventurer, Written on September 10, 2013
I recently purchased this jacket as an added layer to my winter/spring layering system for use in the PNW. I have used it a couple times for alpine starts skinning up Mt Hood and Mt Adams. It does a great job of blocking wind, and at the same time does a good job of breathing thanks to the breathable stretch panels under the arms. I used the ROM jacket with a base layer and R1 hoody underneath
