Bought an older version from years ago and it still fits. Appears that Marmot is finally retiring this jacket.
It's windproof and water resistant. It can be worn in cooler temps during the autumn but not a winter's jacket as it's not insulated. The fleece backing is Very light.
Soft shell jackets are meant to provide some slight insulation, more than a shell, but still enough durability of a shell. It's also meant for relatively Active sports not just to be worn around town.
I'm in-between sizes so I can fit both a large and XL.
Originally had a large but thought I lost it so I bought the XL but then I found the large jacket now I'm stuck with both. Both are essentially the same except for the wrist closure which changed.
Besides the high price, the cut affects the jacket is it's a slim cut.
The large can be worn with a regular shirt but it's still tight overall esp. in the chest and shoulders. It has an elastic wrist closure.
The XL can be worn with a fleece vest or a light (fleece) sweater but it's still tight in the shoulders/arms but more roomier in the chest and body. It has the adjustable velcro wrist closure.
So if you want to layer, then choose the larger size.
