use of fleece jacket

I bought this for bike commuting for those cold days, but I used it for xc skiing recently. I prefer full zip for being able to take it off without removing a bike helmet, and also for larger ventilation. The size I bought was correct, not too large in the waist and the neck was a little loose, but still well fit. I haven't washed it yet. The blue was more midnight blue than navy blue. I like it.

Just right

First, the material is very nice; stretchy but not clingy, smooth, very rich looking. It goes on easily and “gives” when you move. It is perfect when you don’t want a heavier layer. I haven’t tried it as a baselayer but I suspect it would be fine. I wish it had thumbholes.

  • mid layer

Nice lightweight fleece

This is a lightweight fleece with a smooth outercover. Fit is as expected. Looks great. Warmth factor is a bit less than I had expected, but does work well for Southern California. Price was excellent.
Pros:
  • Looks. Fit.
Cons:
  • Lightweight
  • Lighter weight than expected
Best Used for:
  • Hiking. Casual wear.
