Trail pants have replaced jeans for me in general. Previously I’ve been wearing the Eddie Bauer trail pant lineup as my go to casual pant however with regular use, the seams are busting in the pockets and elsewhere. I was trying to be frugal— but after trying to replace Eddie Bauer with Eddie Bauer while continuing to have the same seam issue, I finally got smart and splurged on a pair of marmots. The quality and comfort is night and day. I could’ve saved money buying marmot quality from the beginning but that would’ve been against my frugal soul. Now I’m buying up the marmot lineup. These in particular are NOT fleece lined. These are more of a spring summer fall pant. If you want the full royal treatment for winter use, make sure the style says fleece lined.

Comfortable, not too bulky at all. Color in pictures may look like they are a dark gray but they are totally black. Very happy with them. Bought them for snowshowing, xc skiing, general winter activities. Just need some more snow now.

These pants are great. Comfortable, durable, flexible and warm. I wear them to snowshoe. They move very well and repel snow that gets kicked up. The fit is true. It would be nice if they had zippers on the bottoms to pull over boots but that is not a big loss.
Pros:
COMFORT
DURABILITY
flexible
warm
water repellent
Cons:
NONE
Best Used for:
winter hiking
