Reviews & Ratings for McNett Aquamira Water Purifier Tablets 24/PK
— 3 reviews — Page 1
Description deliberately fails to mention that processing time is 4 hours - not practical for backpacking. This product is too expensive to not spell out clearly the processing time.
Despite the name "chlorine dioxide" these are not bleach tablets. Bleach is innefective agasint some protozoa cyst walls that may still lead you to getting sick if using that alone to treat your water.
I keep these handy as a backup in case I have a filter failure, encounter water where there is potential for viral contamination from livestock, or if I meet someone on the trail that needs em for

I think these tablets are great, yes you do have to plan ahead. Here in Az we have dirt tanks, filters always clog up. I filter twice thru bandana, then add tablets. I add liter to backpack drink the one I have, when I get to camp I boil most of the time anyway. I did this on a thru hike for AZT, worked fine. Plan!! The water tasted great.
