Most Helpful Positive Review The Perfect Solution for Active Sleepers
I just purchased my second Spiral Down Hugger #1. After purchasing the first one, a Right Zip, and testing it this last weekend in Yosemite (winter time), I decided that rather than having my 30 year-old down bag relofted for an upcoming backpacking trip, I would purchase a second Spiral Down Hugger #1 - Left Zip - for the other member of the backpacking group. I am a very active sleeper due to a

Best sleeping bag I've ever had.

by Michael B., Written on February 19, 2015
I must say that I am very impressed with the quality of the sleeping bag. I would even use the word blown away. The material is amazing the down fill is very generous and will distributed. But it's all about the ability to move around in the bag. The bag acts as an elastic exterior that makes the bag clean or hug to your body while still allowing you the freedom to stretch out a little bit in the bag. I never felt claustrophobic, it was more like being hugged by a cloud.

toasty warm and comfy

by vitamin-D, from CO, United States Written on September 10, 2013
I have used the bag for elk scouting bivouacking on 12000+ ft ridges. Temps dropped to freezing and I was more than comfortable. It's light weight and packability are key when you have to move quickly chasing elk herds. This bag will be great for rifle season in mid October. The only downside was the velcro closures on the draft collar and hood keep opening during the night. Right side zip only is

Super Bag

by John C, Written on September 10, 2013
I've had this bag for a year. It is great and the stretch is great for anyone that likes to move around. After using it I don't see how I could go back to a regular non-stretch bag. It is warm and comfortable to past the temp rating to me. Packs down small. I would recommend this bag to anyone.

for the most part awsome

i love this bag. my only disapointment is that the insulation on the back is a little thin so if camping in cool weather you must have a good pad.

Very comfortable

by Sleeping comfy, Written on September 10, 2011
This bag really lives up to it's comfort-ability claims. I've never come across more comfortable mummy bags than the Mont-Bell UL Spiral Down Hugger Series.
I am returning this one however for the #3 instead. Upon further reflection not sure that I need the 15 degree rating, and would rather go with the 30 degree plus a winter coat if need be. That, and it does ring in a touch heavier than their

Perfect sleeping bag

by Brian, from ID, United States Written on September 10, 2011
I bought this bag earlier this year and really liked it but decided to sell it to get a quilt style bag for the weight savings but ended up buying another one of these same Mont-Bells because I liked it so much the first time. This bag is super warm and would consider it true to it's temp rating. The DWR on this bag rocks too! You can pour water on the bag and it just beads off. No need to be afra

Love it!

by Nature Girl, Written on September 10, 2011
Camped beside a waterfall and didnt have any problem with moisture... My sleeping bag stuffs to the smallest of everyones, but fluffs up bigger than everyones when I lay it out. It was plenty warm enough and made for a decent night's sleep. It definitely has some give to it and more stretch than typical sleeping bags, but not as stretchy as the SuperStretch's from MontBell. But realistically, I do

Good But Big

Overall great sleeping bag! The only issue i have is with the size of the stuff sack. Its a bit bigger than i expected and i think the measurements given are off but easily fixed with a good compression sack.
