Most Helpful Positive Review MontBell Anorak
quality is good and fits true to size.38" chest 145lbs wear a medium. The hood has no adjustment so if your going into the wind it will funnel between hood.I also have a Patagonia nano puff and arcterx atom lt hoody, they all seem equal in warmth, the atom lt hoody has adjustment on hood. The Anorak needs hood adjustment.Saying that it only weighs 6ozs so it is the lightest of the three But I feel the most delicate so I wear it under a shell.IMHO of the three I mentioned I like the Anorak the least because of the hood and its just to delicate for Me.If weight is your priority and the lack of hood ...

Light, definitely light

by Nicholas J., Written on February 25, 2015
The jacket is very light. When I held it up to the light, I could see some tiny holes in the fabric where the thread pierced through. I also noticed that some of the sew-through squares had more feathers than others. I’m 5’10” and 150lbs. The size small was a good fit. I returned the jacket however because I was worried it wouldn’t be warm enough for my needs.

Amazing lightweight warmth.

My first down jacket, and first gear trying to shed backpacking weight. Has worked great in the past 1.5 months of winter. Didn't feel the cold at 35-40 deg (plus wind), wearing only over t-shirt. Wore with heavy weight REI base layer, and completely toasty below 30 deg and strong wind. Seems it blocks wind also. Hood works very well. Jacket is light beyond (my) imagination. Lost 2 down feathers so far, couldn't stick them back in as advised. Have not felt any uneven down filling. Would have been nice to be able to stuff into own pocket, hence took off one star from rating. Included stuff sack is light also, but could be lost easily since there is no zippered pocket to store it. As someone else did, I have the stuff sack and another small roll top dry bag in the kangaroo pouch, planning to store in them when hiking, but not needed. Extremely pleased.

Ordering process and price were great as well.

Ex Light Down Anorak

by Jacob C., Written on January 7, 2015
I had previously bought a UL Down Parka but sold it as soon as this model came out. My size large came in at 6.7oz on my scale. I am 6'4" tall, 190lbs and it fits perfectly. The sleeves are long enough, and would be a snug fit with a long sleeve base layer. It might be a little short in the body, but it will fit my needs just fine. I like my rain jacket and wind shirt to completely cover it anyways, so in my mind its perfect!

AWESOME (well, so far)

by Michael G., from NC, United States Written on December 30, 2014
This jacket is fantastic. My main questions going into the purchase were the color, the sizing, and the warmth. I bought the blue color. I thought it might be too shiny/colorful/bright for any sort semi-formal occasion, but I am fairly pleased that is colorful but also subdued slightly.

I am 5'11", 135 lbs., the small fits me perfectly (particularly the sleeves which are a little longer proportionally than your typical jacket sleeves). It has a slimmer (more athletic) fit than most other jackets like this so that is a definite plus.

This jacket is WARM. The 900 fill means that if you have just a t-shirt and this jacket on in a 68-70 degree house than you are going to be a little bit toasty, but i find it bearable (if not pleasant) most of the time if zipped all the way down. That being said, this jacket is meant for the cold, and it definitely does its job & it is SO LIGHT its truly incredible.

Things I look forward to testing are if it is water resistant and how well. (Have yet to try it out in the rain). Also, how well it does in extreme cold (like 15-20 degrees) but i know it will do great with other layers)

Also, you can't beat the value compared to other like products (e.g from Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear). They have more features, but this jacket's functionality is enough for me.

Absurdly light and very warm

by Ashley C., from MA, United States Written on December 19, 2014
So far a great jacket that is very portable and warm. It does seem like it could be fragile, but I won't judge it on that yet. I'll see how it holds up over time.
