Excellent, light, packable jacket
I have yet to officially test this, but I have so far stood outside for ~1 hour while watching a thunderstorm, and there were no issues. I am 155lbs, 6'1", and a large fits me very well. The cut is fairly slim, however, and I think if I had wider shoulders there would be issues. But as is, it fits great, packs to about the size of a grapefruit, and feels awesome. Suitable outer layer
Appropriate outer layer, it has a soft texture and a checkered tear-resistant step cloth. I will wear it on rainy days. The waterproof effect is not good. My body stays dry. I recommend them. They are medium in size and better than gtx. Cheap

Light and effective
I bought this jacket for general use, hiking and also as an all purpose jacket to bring with me when travelling. I chose black so that it might pass as a little more 'formal' if necessary :-)
So far I brought it climbing and on a rainy trip to London where in both cases I was very happy with it.
It is NOT a generous fit. I bought a L, and being a skinny 6' guy I was worried it might be a bit baggy
