A hoodie made of thin Powergrid? Yes please. When it arrived the Powergrid was the super light weight iteration that I had hoped for. This should be excellent for high output activity in cold weather, for me. UNFORTUNATELY, although I’m solidly within the medium size of every manufacturer that I’ve tried, the Allez Hoodie is uncomfortably tight not only over a t-shirt but even next to skin. I’m ok with close fitting in such a garment, but this is excessive. The stitching on the cuffs limits the stretch of the fabric, so I cannot push the sleeves up higher that simply exposing my wrists and the waist is short enough that it exposes about 4” of my belly when I lift my arms over my head. Fail. What I wish this garment was, is long enough to cover my belly, at the very least when I tuck it in (ideally without tucking), sleeves with thumb loops that I can pull up just over my elbows to vent. Ideally, the zip would be at leas a 1/3 if not a 1/2 zip for venting. I do like that I can pull the hood on with the zip up, and the coverage/fit of the hood is good. I’ll be returning this.
Pros:
Excellent fabric, good hood
Cons:
Much too small, stitching on cuffs inhibits stretch
Best Used for:
High output, cold weather
Would recommend: No
