I'm 5'10", 170 lbs with a 33" waist... always right between sizes (long arms and wide shoulders). The coat is cut tight in the shoulders so I needed the Large which left a bit of extra room in the mid-section. That said, the draw cords are right you need them. It's a well built jacket. Very light but warm. Something worth considering, Montane uses down which is not live-plucked.
