First off I love everything about Montane. Have several pieces from them that I love. Was excited to receive these Super Terra pants. I wear a 34-36 waist in everything but these pants run small. Tight in the waist and legs. European athletic cut is very slim fitting. Also, the fabric to my surprise feels rough against the skin probably from the Cordura fibers. They just did not feel comfy. I know these pants are well loved but they just didn't work for me. I returned them. These pants are super bombproof and tough material that can easily handle the roughest abuse imaginable.

As soon as I put them on, these pant are amazing. Fit is spot on and they are super comfortable. Got a pair for ice climbing and I was so pleased I am ordering another pair. Best pants available! Try em and see!

Wish I had bought another pair right away. Comfortable fit and useful pockets. Great for extended wear. Better for moderate climates in my opinion. Water repellant but not waterproof in extended weather conditions.

Purchased the Super Terra pants for an upcoming trek in Nepal. Fit seems true to size. I'm 5'11"/165 and generally wear 32/32 pants. I ordered Medium/Regular in the Super Terra and they are just right in length and waist. Haven't really tried them out yet because they're a heavyweight pant and it's 90+ temps right now but initial impressions are good. Can't really rate them at 5 stars without putting them through their paces.

I've struggled for years to find a longer inseam mountaineering/hard trekking pant that didn't fit like a parachute on a skinny guy.
These pants are phenomenal!
I wear a 33W/34L pant at 175lbs/80kg, and the size L fits like a glove. Still have a bit of room to layer a thin base layer underneath, though someone with a bit more backside than me at the same weight might find these snug.
Technical features are well designed, the build quality is excellent. I hadn't experienced Montane as they are hard to find in North America, but this is clearly the beginning of a long story for me on the technical clothing front as I replace all my older gear as it hit's retirement age in the next year or two.
The only other pant that I have found was the Fjallraven Vidda Pro long pant, which is great for trekking though not as technical for climbing/mountaineering.
Have used to date on - glacier travel, mixed climbing, ice, rock and remote backcountry trekking in the high Arctic.
