I have a hard shell Mountain Equipment jacket and love the quality and fit. I also have two other major brand name mid layers that I use extensively in the backcountry. The Mountain Equipment mid layer is by far a superior product to the other two brands. Mountain Equipment is a lesser know company with a limited product range but from the two products that I've purchased I've found them to be highly functional and well made. Another feature of both products is I appreciate a longer sleeve and that their XL size fits my body type perfectly. I'm 6'2" 185 with long arms. Having extra pockets in the mid layer, a functional hood, and thumb holes is mandatory.
