This is a great layer on it's own or with the right base layer it's super warm in winter conditions. Only a down pour would force a shell.

The perfect jacket for Seattle
I recently moved to Seattle and was looking for that perfect jacket for the 40-50 degree nights. This jacket is perfect for that. The thumbholes are a life saver when biking and the breathability is superb.
Would recommend: Yes

i live next to a creek on the edge of state game lands in northeastern PA. i spend ALOT of time wandering the mountains and streams all year round. i got this jacket the first week of march and immediately headed to the forrest to test it out. it was a wet environment from melting snow/ice and a light rain in the morning, and i immediately realized how un-water resistant the "fleece" was. the drop
