It ended up being bigger than I expected it to, but I decided that was a good thing. I love taking it hiking, because I can have a water bladder in the back, and plenty of room left in the body for snacks, maps, and jackets. I wish it had a couple more small pockets. It is very well-designed and the straps function well to help stabilize the weight on your back.
