This gaiter requires a velcro patch to be attached to your boot. While hiking I often walk over rocks and boulders and feel the velcro could be easily damage and/or detached. These gaiters barely came to the top of my Ariat Terrain hiking boots and would most likely not keep out the small stones, twigs and plant leavings that can irritate your ankles and feet. I sent these back to Campsaver.com.
