I purchased those right after my 2-week Alaska wilderness hike in Katmai NP. I had REI rain pants with knee-high zippers. Those works with light hiking shoes, but I could not put them on over a larger boots... Now I tested MH Ozonic Pants- what a difference!- So easy to put them on and off over any boots. They are super-light and pack to nothing. Venting by unzipping top but covered by rain jacket works great too!
