An expensive tent but worth the $$$ - Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Tent - 2 Person, 4 Season

I have only used this tent twice since buying it. Unfortunately not in snow but in some nasty storms. I just got back from Assateague Island National Seashore where we had hail, torrential downpours, and 40 mph winds. I know this is an expedition quality tent from Mtn Hrdwr so you expect it to be well made and it didn't disappoint. The tent didn't flinch in the wind and rain and totally dry inside. I was camped on the beach exposed (by choice) using a type of 'dead man anchor' to hold the tent and fly in position. I fill the grocery store bags with sand and tied the handles to the guy lines to use as anchors. The tent was so well in place I didn't bother to bury the bags (which you would normally do in sand/snow conditions). Everyone else on the beach had one problem or another. The many guy points made the tent solid. Each bag when filled with sand (which was wet of course) weight around 15 lbs. Burying the bags would have cut down on the noise as well. No worries with this tent. Both length side wall are covered in mesh pockets, ceiling has pockets. No need for a gear loft.
