Always toss one of these into the dinner mix for the trips. Creamy and filling.

i enjoyed this. Good texture, lovely creamy flavour. I have found mountain house foods a touch bland. A tiny bit of salt would improve it.

I've found Mountain House to be the best of the freeze-dried long term food companies that I tried in terms of taste. Chicken A La King is by far the best of their offering. This also happens to be an unusually large meal -- 3 one cup servings -- so four of these packs actually have as much as the #10 can

The price I couldn’t ignore on the hiking food I really like. Top this off with free shipping and excellent service and you have a winning combination.

I have used Mountain House meals as my primary food source for 2000+ miles of the PCT. They are lightweight, nutritious, easy to prepare, and there is enough variety that I don't tire of any of the meals on a 3-week hike. The empty pouches are a trash issue, but the trash weight is minimal (lighter than full pouches), and I can usually find somebody to dispose of the empties for me.

During my completion of 2,000+ miles of the PCT and numerous off-trail hikes in the North Cascades, Mountain House has been my primary food source 3 meals per day. The meals are tasty, and there is enough great variety that I never get tired of thenm. Some thru-hikers tell me they would like to eat Mountain House but it is expensive. My rationale is that if I didn't spend my vacation on the tria

On a two-week backpacking elk hunt, I went through a number of MH meals. The Chicken A La King was far and away my favorite. Full of flavor, and very satisfying after humping it up and down the mountains all day. Preparation is a snap (be sure to stir thoroughly when you add the water, and again before eating), and no clean-up. It was usually a challenge to eat the whole contents myself, but it wa

I usually prepare my own backpacking food because freeze dried is just not that great. Preparing for a long trip and am looking for some variety, so I turned to sampling freeze dried. So far, Chicken a la king is my favorite freeze dried.
