For that price it is an absolutely excellent purchase. It is is easy to adjust the height, very light and the handle offers a very good grip. I did not use any pole before but after using Mountainsmith it will definitely become a must-bring item for my next trips. I would also look forward to purchasing another pole.

Backpacked for 3 days carrying a 40 pound pack and found myself depending a lot on the poles for balance and negotiating difficult terrain. A must item for me on all future backpacking trips.

Have only had a couple on opportunities to use the pole. Tecumseh Trail and Turkey Run but on both trips the pole worked as expected from a Mountainsmith pole. Really great deal at Campsaver!!!

They adjust very easily and have easy to read measurement indications to suit your height as well as up/down hill trekking. I found that you need to REALLY tighten the
