I have used this pump several times on an old dragonfly drove I at auction on eBay that had a cracked and distorted area around the pump valve. It was the old blue straight shaft version. I trust this new pump, and it makes my old stove work like new. It is of good quality and like many reviews, I believe it will last a life time of wilderness and back country camping trips.

Very nice improvements over the original pump, glad I made the update.

The old teal pump failed: body cracked through female threads that seat the valve. That would not have been repairable in the field. Several other changes seem to reflect user feedback - a good sign. Over 40 years, all the MSR product changes that I remember were real improvements, not just decorative.
