I had a pair of Salomon snow shoes, and needed something similar. I have horses on a remote pasture, and if the snow is over 2 feet deep I have trouble gaining access to feed each day. Use these for mountaineering or just hiking with our family in the Sierras on and off trails. Camp Saver made a good deal on these at 20% off. Also, I love the heel lifter and the tapered design of the Evo Ascent over the Denali Ascent; I've used both shoes and both are good I just prefer the Evo Ascent. Used the tails this past weekend in up to a foot of new powder. They definitely made a dif
