I have found the full size MSR Groundhogs a little too long for rocky mountain soil. These are perfect, even lighter. I'll probably carry 2 of the full sized ones for vestibules when camping on loose soil.

Pros:

Smaller, light weight, good holding power.

Cons:

Too small for loose soil.

Best Used for:

Backpacking
