This is a great all around knife. the only thing that would make it better is if it had a pair of scissors. lightweight, thin design, you almost forget it is in your pocket. textured grip handle prevents it from slipping in your hand.
I bought this knife because of the scissors which are large enough to be functional unlike smaller knifes. It is a little too wide to carry comfortably in the pocket. I've been carrying it in an old leatherman belt pouch which works perfect. Great all around knife.
I don't recommend this product. A little heavier than a homemade coozy out of reflectix. Works good for eating out of your pot or freeze dried meal. No cover for pot use is a negative, a little short for a typical mountain house meal.
This is a great saw. I bought this saw for backpacking it was a little heavier than I was expecting. Cuts very smoothly once you get use to cutting on the pull stroke. Got a good price on sale at Campsavers.
I much prefer this style bag with than a conventional stuff sack. Traditional stuff sacks you almost have to empty the contents just to see or find what you are looking for. With this one, you just open the zipper and you can almost see the entire contents and grab just what you need.
Probably the lightest water carrier out there. It is threaded to accept the Sawyer mini or squeeze filters with no leaks. Much more durable than the Sawyer factory bags. Rolls up nicely to take up less space. With the extra material at the bottom, you can punch holes in it and insert a small cord for a gravity filtration system.
This has got to be one of my top three Mountain House Meals. I am not sure of the sodium content but this is one of the few Mountain house meals that does not taste too salty. A single serving size of soy sauce would improve the flavor if you are craving more salt. Highly recommended for backpacking.
Well made product. Good for moderate backpacking or trail running or hiking. The spikes do not provide good grip on steep icy hills. The spikes need to be sharper. Also slips in deep snow, Not enough traction. Not recommended for steep and icy hills with more than six inches of snow.
I have found the full size MSR Groundhogs a little too long for rocky mountain soil. These are perfect, even lighter. I'll probably carry 2 of the full sized ones for vestibules when camping on loose soil.
