Roomy, lightweight tent
We upgraded from our REI halfdome 2 tent to this MSR Papa Hubba NX 4-person Tent. While the papa hubba is 2x the size, they both fold up into about the same size! This tent takes an extra minute or two to set up, and there are twice as many stakes to put in as most tents, but it seems perfect for backpacking!

Great lightweight tent
I used this tent this weekend for the first time. While I'm still trying to figure out how to stake out the guy lines, I was impressed with the weight, the sturdiness, the ease of set up (except for the guy lines), and the space available. We had some rain, and what I found was that if the fly is not stretched out (and I haven't yet figured out the proper staking), and touches the tent, the tent can become porous. I have the other hubbas, though, and needed Papa to make sure I had the whole family for different purposes.
Pros:
- Lightweight, easily set up
Cons:
- got to learn to stake out the fly properly
- Plus, not high enough to stand up in (usual in backpacking tents)
Best Used for:
- Backpacking and camping
