This is a great pack for EDC. The material seems very durable and is water resistant. Plenty of compartments to store all the gear you would need for a day at work, a day hike, or even traveling for a weekend. Although there are no exterior compression straps, the bag holds a very slim shape when not packed full and isn't overly baggy, yet when you do pack the bag full, the accordion style layout of the main compartment helps to keep the pack compressed and not bulgy looking. It's a very smart design. I'm was able to fit a 15" macbook and a 17" toshiba laptop in the padded sleeve, which has a false bottom that offers extra protection in case you would drop the bag. There is also a second sleeve where you could fit an ipad or other smaller tablet/laptop, along with 2 decent sized deep pockets that can fit a Maxpedition micro EDC pouch perfectly.

The outer "admin" compartment allows for quick access to items through the top flap, as well as the ability to unzip it and have full access to all the contents in that section. There are two smaller pockets that can fit pens, a flashlight, charging cords, an extra ammo magazine, etc. and a larger deeper pocket like the pockets in the main compartment that is perfect for a micro EDC pouch. There is also a small dump pocket on top of the pack where you could throw your keys, phone, or sunglasses.
