Finally!! the hunting pack i have been searching for! - Mystery Ranch Metcalf 4335 cubic in Backpack

I have been holding off on buying a new pack for elk bow hunting, until I found the one that was a “Goldie Locks” fit that was just right for what I needed. This pack is everything I wanted and more! The meat shelf (or whatever you need to pack between the frame and the rest of the backpack) is fantastic. There are minimal pockets, but that is easily addressed with the available Zoid bags. The built in camelback pocket and the water bottle pockets are perfect and user friendly (finally a pack that I can reach the water bottles and put them back on my own without taking the pack off). The materials and workmanship that went into every detail of the pack are top-notch….obviously designed by people who use backpacks and have high usability requirements… and came to the table with one that addressed every shortcoming they experienced in previous packs…plus additional wish-list features. The adjuster straps are easy to use to balance the pack given how much…or how little you have in it. The padded waist straps are easily adjustable and extremely comfortable whether I am hiking for miles or riding an ATV for hours over unforgiving trails. Price: Sure, it is a chunk of change, but still a bargain compared with big-name brands I was comparing…..this pack is worth every penny! It is everything I need for a day pack…or a pack for several days of hunting, fishing, camping…….or whatever else I could throw at it in any season!
