djskibum's Review of Oboz Firebrand II Low B-DRY Hiking Shoes - Men's
After reading a bunch of reviews and watching multiple videos I decided on the Oboz Firebrand II Low B-DRY Hiking Shoe. The shoe arrived and out I went on a short hike...about 1.5 miles. At about the half way mark my heel started to get rubbed raw. There is a seam about 3/4 of the way up in the heel pocket of the shoe...it did a number on my heels. Both heels had huge blisters after that short hike. The seam started to feel like a giant ridge and was very uncomfortable. I'm still healing but tried the shoes on again the other day and I made it out the door and then had to take the shoes off because that seam ground into my healing flesh. It must be a combination of my heels and the shoes. I will try and just wear the shoes on much shorter walks and see if I can break them in or somehow have that seam mellow out. It is a pricy shoe just to make a shelf in my closet look good.
