These shoes are actually the best hiking shoes (for approach and day hikes) that I've ever worn. They were immediately comfortable and were sized just right (12EE) with a wide-enough toe box and no movement at the heel. They provide great support but are still flexible, and the design and construction are absolutely first rate. The stitching and materials are excellent and even the laces are extra beefy and do not slip. Unfortunately, now I have to compare the Firebrand II to all my other shoes that are not Oboz and wish they were all this good.
Pros:
- waterproof
- Support
- comfort and breathability
- attractive style
Cons:
- not cheap, but worth the price, anyway.
Best Used for:
- day hikes
