Great features!

I am 6'1" with a 30-32 waist and a tall torso.

I did a ton of searching around for a trad bag in the approximate volume of 25-30 liters. This one was top of the list. I love all the features from the top of the bag to the bottom. The side straps fit my 70m rope and holds it tight so I don't get caught on snags while hiking in to the cliff. The helmet net is a great feature to allow the helmet to be secured without taking up extra space in the pack or sticking up from the top of the pack. When I have my helmet on, I can lift my head all around. The helmet does not hinder my head movement. I've used it several times and love it! It fits all my gear for the hike in but is not so big or bulky that it hinders me while climbing.

I love everything about the pack except the connection for the hip strap. The "buckle" is more like a hook. The strap only tightens on one side. With my thin waist I have to tighten the strap all the way down - and it's just barely snug enough. With a couple of layers on (shirts, hoody, jacket) it's just fine. If I'm only wearing a light shirt, it's not quite as tight as I'd like it to be. Also the extra strap hangs down. I have to tuck and wrap it around the small of my back between my body and the pack to keep it from flopping around. Other than this I would absolutely give the pack 5 stars.
Pros:
  • Durable with all the features I wanted
Cons:
  • Hip strap is not as snug for my slender waist
Best Used for:
  • Multi pitch trad
