Coolest Backcountry Shovel
I bought this for my daughter as I already own one. It is an avalanche shovel, a avalanche pick shovel and a ice axe all in one. She is a splitboarder and sometimes an ice axe offers added security if she should fall on really steep terrain. This is one tool that does it all. Thanks Campsaver for the great service.

This shovel is sweet and it got to me super fast, so fast they forgot to seal the box.
This shovel is just what I’ve been looking for. Two essential tools for backcountry/alpine snow adventures in one. It was easy to order and got to me fast. However, when the box arrived it was not sealed. The tape was barely holding it together. My usual UPS delivery bro had me make sure everything was there before he left it with me. He said that he received it that way, I believe him because he’s a neighbor and a backcountry skier himself. Luckily, everything was there and the shovel now lives in my pack. Only thing that would make it better is if it could convert to a hoe in order to move snow more efficiently but that is minor since it’s so solidly built, light and turns into an ice axe.
Pros:
- It is two tools in one.
Cons:
- The box it came in was not sealed properly.
Best Used for:
- Backcountry snowboarding/skiing
- Fighting off rabid mountain goats and surely mountain hermits .
