Dave Digs His New Pack!

by KarlosJ83, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2011
I really like that the pack came exactly as advertised. Well made, highly adjustable, and lightweight. Plus the close-out price on Campsavers made it all the better! Will shop with you again.
Most Helpful Positive Review Aether 60 Pack
This is a great pack. Probably the best on the market in regards to price and reliability. Extremely comfortable and adjustable within given ranges for people with different length torsos. Overall an amazing pack.
Most Helpful Negative Review Disappointed
I really looked forward to Osprey's new Aether 60 pack design, but found it lacking. No belt pockets (a frustrating Osprey hold-out), an odd top pouch/pocket that is supposed to double as a fanny pack (which no one will ever use), and the suspension squeaks. Add to that the side bottle pouches which...

Just the ticket for Michigan backcountry!

by Rick, from MI, United States Written on January 31, 2021
Just received this pack, so have not hiked with it yet. My torso length is 19", my waist is 38 ". I ordered the Medium size, which for me, involves the shoulder harness adjusted down almost as short as it can go, and the waist belt sits on my hip bones perfectly. The pack build is sturdy, feels secure on my back, and is easy to adjust. The J zipper to access the interior of the bag is a nice feature, but not sure how I will use that in inclement weather (if using a pack liner, for instance). We intend on using our Osprey Aether and Ariel packs for 3 - 5 days backcountry camping in Michigan. The volume of these packs appears to be sufficient; I am confident they will hold up in the Michigan forests. These are not ultralight setups by any means. We are nearing retirement, and appreciate some comfort items on the trail. This pack seems to be an ideal combination of weight carrying capacity and wear comfort; our total carry weight seems to fall in the 25-30# range. I believe this pack will do that well. The AG suspension system allows for open air space between my back and the bag, which will keep things cooler on the trail, the stiffened load lifter straps bring the top of the pack in nice and secure. Kudos to CampSaver for having this pack, in my size, and even the color I preferred, when no one else did (including Osprey), at an unbelievable price! Shipping time and packaging was awesome as well...

I will update this review once I put this pack into service, if ...

Best Pack I’ve Ever Had

by Squatch, from UT, United States Written on June 8, 2019
I’ve been a long time hold out in favor of a large ALICE pack. This pack handles weight with surprising comfort. The ventilation is quite a luxury too. I had planned for a year or so to buy a ULA Ohm pack, it weighs a couple pounds less. I felt that until I had another $1500 or so to invest in more ultralight stuff to carry in the bag, I’d be better off with a pack that would carry what I do have comfortably. Osprey downright shines on that score! I’m sold on Osprey for life.
Pros:
  • Rugged and Comfortable
Cons:
  • A little heavier than UL
Best Used for:
  • Everything short of hauling rocks

Awesome Pack in EVERY Way

by Randall J., Written on August 1, 2017
Don't get caught up trying to save a couple of pounds by going with a much less durable pack. Pack smart and you'll get those couple of pounds back. I really don't know what else you could ask for in a backpack.

Osprey Aether 60

by Joseph H., Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on December 6, 2016
I purchased two Osprey Aether 60 backpacks for my sons as a smaller version of my Osprey Aether 70 backpack for Boy Scout camping. I was slightly disappointed that the packs were not exactly a smaller version of my pack. The Aether 60 pack does not have the raincover pocket that my Aether 70 has so a raincover must be stored in the top pocket or clipped to the outside of the pack and must be set up each time it is used. Other than this one minor issue the Osprey Aether 60 are great backpacks and you can not beat the Osprey lifetime warranty on backpacks

Quality Pack

by MTR, from NY, United States Written on December 12, 2013
This is a quality bag, intelligently designed and built to last. It also is quite a looker. I found this to be much more comfortable and superior to my previous bag in every way. The padding has been improved over even the previous version, and the new waist belt zippers are a welcome addition to the Aether series. The 60L volume bag holds more than it looks and would really be sufficient for all

Great Pack

by Ryan, Written on September 10, 2013
I have tested this pack out on a day hike so far, partially loaded, and found it to be quite comfortable. The adjustable shoulder straps are a great addition. I have plans to take it on a 2-3 day backpacking trip within the next few weeks, and feel quite confident that it will not only hold all of the necessary gear, but do so comfortably, and for many years to come. Happy with my choice!
