Osprey Kestrel 48
I've been looking at Osprey packs for a while now but did not have the scratch to buy one till I found out about Campsaver!! I was able to afford the Kestrel 48 in my size M/L and when I got it, I immediately packed it with my sleeping and cooking gear and fiddled around with it till I got the perfect pack and I was able to adjust the hip belt, shoulder straps and load lifters to just the right comfort level.. It is very spacious and all my essential gear fits in it. I love all of the extra cranium and side pockets. It even comes with a rain cover. Awesome!!!

Osprey Kestrel 48 Large
This is the perfect size pack for a multi day trip. However for my first trip with the Osprey Kestrel, I am using it on a 5 week adventure thru northern Spain where it is unnecessary for me to pack a tent, cookwear and maybe a sleeping pad. There are a few features n this pack that I love such a the rain cover that is built into a lower hidden pocket as well as side access into the main compartment. I also like the options of the compression straps. The only draw back might be the side zipper pocket does not expand very far when you have the interior of the pack filled. Other than this minor issue, this is the prefect pack for me
Pros:
- $180
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Multi day backpacking

Good Pack
Carried this pack for a few hundred miles. Its a great pack but it is on the heavy side. It will carry a 45 lb load depending on what your comfort level is. Durability is solid and all packets are good. The stretch pouch is the best. I carried a full 7 day bear vault inside with a double wall tent and full compliment of winter gear. It all fit inside the pack with some creative packing.

Great Pack for a great price
I got this pack when it was on sale and there was only one size available at the time, so i had to get it. I am an in-between torso length size based off their sizing chart, but once I got the pack I noticed that I probably should have went with the smaller size. But this is a great pack, a lot of pockets and space to put your equipment. I definitely recommend this bag.

Not yet tested, but seems true
I have not gotten a chance to use this backpack, but I decided on it after quite a bit of researching. It looks like it will meet my needs and it fits well. Osprey has been my go to brand for a few years now. I have one of their other backpacks and I love it. It has held up quite well to my abuse of it and I'm sure the Kestrel 48 will as well.

Incredible Pack!
I own at least 5 backpacks from elite brands. Three of them are Osprey. This one is the best. Numerous lash on points (back and top). The side pockets are huge and genius in design. Great belt and back ventilation. This pack beats $250 ones in my opinion.
