Most Helpful Positive Review OR Pants sizing is always an issue
While I love the material in the Ferrosi line, the sizing of the pants leaves something to be desired. I am 5'7" tall with a 26.5 in. waist and slim hips. I bought the size 6 based on the size chart and they were a bit too large in the waist. I sent them back for a size 4 which fit in the waist but the length from waist to crotch was WAY too short. Wearing the pants felt like one constant and annoying wedgie. Back they go too. If you're long waisted, I'd suggest looking elsewhere for similar pants. My husband has the same issue with OR pants.

Very flexible and comfort

by Julian, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on May 3, 2022
This pants are very flexible, comfortable, air-permeable, wind and water-resistant, and they work so well in so many situations that I think they are suit for many kinds of outdoor adventure. The pants resist water long enough for you to wear the rain pants, and they're quick to dry after wet out.

So far so good

by KJtheMom, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 10, 2022
These pants feel great because of the lining but they will not keep me warm in this cold weather. I think they will be better for early spring and late fall when it's not freezing -- just chilly. They do run large. I wear a size 6 and bought a 4. They fit like a glove. They seemed to wash up nicely. I hung them up to dry. I won't know more till I start wearing them in March.
Pros:
  • Feel good
  • good amout of pockets
  • nice stretch in material
Cons:
  • not as warm as I had hoped
Best Used for:
  • HIKING
  • Work
  • running errands

Hiking in Style

by Nu Moon, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on November 29, 2020
These pants are perfect for hitting the trails or cruising the downtown streets. They have a nice flattering fit without being tight so they are comfortable for longs days on the move. The fabric is nice quality and feels like it will hold up well to my active lifestyle.

just okay- nothing spectacular

by lpcarr, from NY, United States Written on January 27, 2020
the pants themselves seemed fine but the fit was quite off for me (5,8" and fairly slim). i did not end up keeping them, though the material and color were both nice. i ended up buying the topo designs boulder pants instead, which i love

awesome pants despite confusing sizing on CampSaver website

by somewhere, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on July 9, 2019
I love these pants and wish to have every color (I have blue and mud now but still wish for more). I'm 5'7" 123lb athletic build and size 2 regular length fits pretty well, even with some extra room for layering. They are perfect for trekking/climbing, very stretchy and durable material and lots of good pockets!!! The mud color I got from Campsaver was listed as waist size 25 inseam 29.5, I took a chance with it and gladly find out that they are indeed size 2 regular length :)

Love the material and the fit at the hip but leg was way too wide

by ELIZABETH, from VA, United States Written on July 7, 2019
I loved the lightweight material but the leg was way too wide and flared at the bottom. The bottoms have a string closure but it's bulky when cinched. I had read reviews that these were narrow leg pants and that is part of the reason I purchased them.
Pros:
  • material and weight
Cons:
  • wide leg

Great for walking

by Allen Paulsen, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on March 10, 2019
I bought these for my wife to wear when riding her quad, she is always cold(so she says) she tried them on and loved them, now she wears them when we go walking, they keep her warm. It's been in the low 40s here in Utah and we walk 4 or 5 times a week.
Pros:
  • Great Fit
  • Light & warm
Cons:
  • NONE
Best Used for:
  • Walking and hiking
  • daily casual use

Too Heavy for Summer

by Reiner Gal, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on August 5, 2018
While these are clearly well made pants, and able to withstand the rigors of the trail, they are just too heavy to be comfortable for hot summer backpacks. I would consider using them for late fall or early spring, but sent this pair back as I was looking for ultra light and fast drying summer backpacking pants. Outdoor research is one of my favorite brands but these pants did not meet expectations.
Pros:
  • Sturdy
  • Well made
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • cool season backpacking

Super comfy!

by Azhiker, from AZ, United States Written on September 7, 2017
Like hiking in my jammies comfy. Lightweight, dries quickly and great freedom of movement. Does stretch out so if you don't like real baggy go a size down. Waist sits nicely on hips and the ability to sinch up the ankle is great.
