Recommended, but with caveats

Like most everyone I wanted a RTT. I figured they would sell out during the summer and so ordered mine way back in March/April and revived in early June. It came packaged on a huge pallet and covered nicely by a massive amount of cardboard (it took weeks to get it all into our recycle bin). With the help of my wife and a neighbor, we had it up on my truck rack in little time and I was out camping in a week or so. Now that I've had a chance to put it through it's pisces here's how I grade out the various components and features. Shipping: I give shipping an A. Mounting hardware: C. It's adequate but not particularly nice and offers nothing in the way of anti-theft. If a couple dudes wanted to remove the tent from my rack they could do so with a crescent wrench and be gone in two minutes. I've since added my own hardware (to at least slow them down). Build quality: B/C. It's mostly well built (ish). It feels sturdy/solid and the materials are at least adequate. The aluminum base is structurally solid. Fit and finish is not particularly polished. Some non-essential joints don't line up perfectly and I noticed at least one rivet that appears to be lacking in one location. I also had one fabric anchor point/loop in the rainfly come unstitched from very little pressure. It's fixable, but that was disappointing. Zippers seem of decent quality, as do fabrics.
