I was looking forward to trying the Caliphine Patagonia top and bottom base layer. I ordered my usual size but the fit wasn't close. The torso was very tight and the sleeves were very long. The bottoms ver baggy around the thigh area and they were very long as well. I am 5'11" and with 172 lbs and wear larges. I have several other brands of long underwear that fit perfectly.

Last thermal you will need
Ive worn my Capilene 3 just about everywhere for the last 6 months and it still looks new. Mind you i hike at least 2 times a week in everything from freezing mountain tops to death valley (at night). It dries super quick and is so light its feels like wearing nothing. Just a great all around piece of equipment that everyone should own. Just bought my second one. Thanks Campsaver!

Ideal - BUY!
Extremely versatile layer. I would purchase this again and strongly recommend it. I have used this while sprint kayaking 5 miles, cruising 30 miles on my bike, and hiking an hour with a 60 lb pack for training purposes. This is an excellent layer that wicks the moisture away (using First Ascent Paradise Baselayer).Plus it's nice enough to wear out for a meal afterward :)

Patagonia Capilene 3 zip neck
I said this for the Down Sweater too, but definitely anyone who spends any time outdoors any time of year should own a piece of Capilene 3. Keeps you dry when you're moving and sweating, and keeps you warm when you're not. I wear it on it's own in the fall for mountain biking, all winter long under my ski jacket, and take it on every camping trip during the summer to wear at night. It's amazing
