Arms are tight and not warm to wear - Patagonia Down Sweater - Mens

Bought this on sale ;)
XL fits relatively well but it's meant to be worn AS a sweater in place of a fleece or wool sweater/jacket.
Tried wearing a longsleeved rugby shirt with the snap-T and it was tight around the shoulders/arm pit area and the arms had almost NO room. Replaced the snap-T with a lighweight fleece pullover and it was better but NOT by much.
It's best worn with a thinner undergarment (long sleeved collar shirt or performance/cotton long sleeved shirt) and a Lightweight fleece/wool jacket/sweater underneath the Down Sweater. There was just enough room in the sleeves BUT... you had to PULL the long sleeves of the shirt and sweater through to the end. WORSE, for long sleeves, the Down sweater did NOT have thumbholes at the end of the wrist cuffs!
Also, the nylon exterior is TOO fragile that it will probably snag easily and rip so it's NOT meant for active sports wear.

For whatever darn reason, the designers are IDIOTS who designed the sleeves TIGHT!
Guess the designers Made the sweater to be worn for active activity or something which the sweater is NOT meant for!! Fashion should NEVER trump function!

FYI...
The Down SWEATER is a LIGHTWEIGHT down jacket so it will NOT keep you warm if you wear it on top on COLD, windy days esp. when the temps drop into the mid-to-low 30s F (Freezing point is 32F). THAT is when you really need to wear a REAL THICK down jacket.
I have both the TNF Hooded down 700 fill parka for cold temps and it IS warm and the TNF McMurdo jacket when it really gets Freezing cold!

Otherwise, the jacket is nice, Fashioable yet PRICEY. It can be worn as an otue jacket but ONLY when it's warm Enough when the temps are at least in the 40s with Appropriate winter clothes.
