The Patagonia Hi-Loft jacket is a decent jacket and it's meant for cold weather, even below freezing temperatures. This jacket will keep you warm in temps down to 0F, but I'm not sure I'd test it on any colder weather. The Hi-Loft is a bit misleading: It's thinner than its photo displays (and the ocean blue is a lot brighter), but it still functions as intended. The hood is a bit large for the jacket although Patagonia probably intended for it to be used with hats. As for sizing, I'm 5'10" and have a 43" chest, and the size larges sleeves run slightly big, as does the jacket length. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend the Patagonia Hi-Loft for non-Arctic winter conditions.
