I've bought the same Patagonia backpack for myself and my daughter three times each. We both are really hard on things but it took us each several years to wear each pack into the ground. They're lightweight and sturdy. Patagonia is a good brand.
The only downsides, all minor:
- the straps (not shoulder straps but ones for toting) are longer than they used to be. I hardly ever use them so they f
